February 10th's Photo!

I forgot to take a picture today but this was on the camera for today. It's a piece for the dashboard that Curtis is making for his car.

A "HOT" Commodity??

I don't know about in your house but Ice Cream Sandwiches don't last very long in this house!

I can't keep them in the freezer . . . thanks to Allison and Curtis!

I don't mind so much though . . . it's a sign that spring and summer are near!

He Thinks He's Funny!

Yesterday was a horribly long day for me at work. I agreed to help out with an extra job that took several extra hours. That's on top of my busy work-packed Monday. I ended up being there 13 1/2 hours and I also drive an hour to get there and an hour home so you can do the math. Not fun!

Anyway.

Later in the evening, I received an email from Curtis. As soon as I saw it was from him, I smiled.

BUT!!!

This is what he sent me!

Let me explain. Pepsi is my favorite. Canned Pepsi is my second favorite to fountain Pepsi. Allison wanted to get me a case of it for Mother's Day because quite frankly, I try not to keep it in the house. I can't control myself on it. It's my drug of choice.

So.

Curtis knowing that we don't have Pepsi at work and knowing that I could probably use a Pepsi late in the evening of my grueling exhausting shift, decides to send me this picture of an empty can and empty glass to rub in that he's at home all comfortable drinking MY PEPSI!

He is NOT funny and NOT nice...and he wonders where Allison gets her orneriness!

I had the last laugh though. I knew what Monday was going to be like so I threw 4 cans in my work bag. Doesn't he know that us Moms always think ahead???

Curtis has an Enemy!

Yes. That's right.

My sweet, lovable, easy-going honey has an enemy.

I know! It's crazy!

For those of you that know him in person probably find this hard to believe.

It's true.

I wouldn't lie!

Whenever he comes near this enemy, his stress level goes up and his palms get sweaty.

I'm sure his heart starts racing too!

It's actually quite frightening!

Do you want to see his enemy?

Here's the enemy!

Okay. Stop laughing!

I'm serious!

He hated my electric can opener so I got this Pampered Chef one.

I think he hates this one even more!

He can't open a can with it.

He resorts to a screwdriver and raw power.

I'm speaking of his biceps.

Good thing my man has some guns!

Yesterday was My Sweetie's Birthday!

I'm a little late in posting this but I still wanted to celebrate the day God gave my sweetie life. Thank you Curtis for being a wonderful partner and an awesome Dad. I know it bothers you that you are getting older but you still are as handsome as the day we first met and twice as sexy!

We love you!

A Late Father's Day Post!

I would have posted this earlier but we've been in a debate in this house. Curtis wouldn't let me post his pic from Father's Day. You see his day started with us waking him up with breakfast in bed. I made him Banana Fosters French Toast. Allison delivered it to him wearing her new "Daddy's Girl" shirt...which definitely describes her. She loves her Daddy! Anyway, he claims he looks awful in the picture. I think he looks handsome. After a few days I am giving up and decided to respect his wishes. The picture will not be posted. So all you get to see is this part of his arm. Can you see his muscle? That's nothing. You should see him flex! My man has some muscles!
We broke out the grill for dinner. The charcoal grill. I know gas grills are more convenient but we think the food tastes better on a charcoal grill. I'm sure someday we'll get a gas grill but for now we like our charcoal grill. I made a hearty manly dinner for my man! We had rib steaks, crash hot potatoes and corn. You have to try the crash hot potatoes. I found them on The Pioneer Woman's website. They were really easy and so yummy! You can click on the link to go to the recipe. She has a lot of great recipes but most are not so healthy. We are trying to eat healthier these days so I lightened this one up. Instead of spreading olive oil all over the sheet pan, I used Pam Olive Oil Spray. Just enough to keep them from sticking. Also instead of brushing the tops "rather generously with olive oil", I did about a 1 second spray of the olive oil on each. I also didn't use kosher salt. First because I didn't have any and second because I think it may add too much salt if you are not careful...and that's just not good for your blood pressure! Hmmm, maybe that's why mine is on the very low end of acceptable. :) Anyway, I did sprinkle a tiny bit of regular salt on them since potatoes just scream for salt. I figured if he wanted more, then he could add it at the table. He didn't. There was enough flavor with the pepper and rosemary that they didn't need anything else.
Allison picked me flowers while we were out grilling. She ran upstairs and got the top to her glue stick to use as a vase. Too funny! This picture is VERY enlarged so you can see it. There is a dandelion, a clover, a buttercup, a violet and I don't know what else. We put it in the middle of our dinner table. She was so proud to contribute to the dinner.

I didn't get to see my own Dad on Father's Day but I did talk to him. I saw him yesterday and lately he hasn't looked too good. I'm worried. He has some health problems and Spring and Summer is so hard on him. There so much work to do outside on the farm. The heat isn't good. It takes so much out of him. I know he's been to the Dr. and they are going to run some tests. If you pray, please say a little prayer for him. If not, can you just think good thoughts for him?

Happy Birthday Sweetie!!!!!!!!!!!

Yesterday my honey turned thirty-something. I would post his age but I'm sure he wouldn't be too thrilled with me. I don't know why because I think he looks good for his age! I tease him that I would leave him for George Clooney but in all honesty, George doesn't come close my guy!

I tried to make his birthday special but I think I failed. First, his gift that I ordered didn't come in time. I did make him a nice dinner of pork roast with baby portabella mushroom gravy in the crock pot, mashed redskin potatoes and green & yellow beans with baby carrots.
However, he couldn't enjoy it because we had to eat it in a hurry so we could go pick up Allison's school work from one of her classmates. She's been out sick for two days so I had the teacher send it home. I don't want her to get behind. After picking up her school work, we went to the vet's office to pick up Princess from being declawed and spayed. We then rushed home and he sat at the kitchen table for the next 2 1/2 hours with Allison doing about 30 school papers! We then sang a quick happy birthday and presented him with his cake that Allison and I baked for him and she sprinkled and sprinkled and sprinkled!
He then read her a story and tucked her into bed. He came downstairs and had a piece of birthday cake. Since Allison has been sick, I had not been able to do my normal Wednesday errands which included picking up a birthday gift for a birthday party that Allison was invited to tonight. So off he went to Wal-Mart to get a gift for the little boy. What a guy! George wouldn't have done all that!

I love you honey! I'm sorry your birthday wasn't all that you deserve. I hope we share many more of your birthdays together. I promise you they will be better!

Dinner and A Movie!

I received an email at work on Tuesday from Curtis. The subject line was "Formal Invitation." It said I was invited to Dinner and a Movie with him and Allison on Wednesday night. He would make the dinner and pick the movie and all I had to do was R.S.V.P. Well, heck ya! I am up for a family night where I don't have to do anything! Don't get me wrong, I like cooking for my famiy. Sometimes it's just hard to find the engergy after working all day and then driving home an hour. This was a very sweet thing for him to do and I looked forward to it all day!

Curtis did his prep work the night before so we would have time to watch the whole movie before Allison had to go to bed. He made stuffed shells, mixed vegetables and Texas garlic toast. YUMMY! It was awesome! He even packed me leftovers for lunch today at work. So sweet! It's usually me that packs him leftovers. I loved getting a break from the dinner responsibilities! Thank you Honey!!!!

The movie Curtis picked was Disney's Mighty Joe Young. Adorable! It is rated PG so I had my reservations but Allison loved it. I did cover her eyes one time because it showed something I didn't want her to see. It was only for about 3 seconds. If you haven't seen this movie, I suggest you rent it. I teared up 12 minutes into it and cried like a baby at the end. It kept all of our attention the whole 114 minutes. It's a must see!

A Couple of Funny Pics!

It's Saturday morning and before I get started Spring cleaning my living room, I thought I would stop by and share a couple of pictures.

This pic is of Miss Allison right now. She wanted to get "all fashionable" for Grandma's house later today. Look at those legs. I don't think mine were ever that thin!

A close up of her "fashionable" hair style!

This one is of last week. Emmie (my car) had been sick for a couple of weeks. Curtis and his best friend, Rudy had been working on it every evening trying to figure it out. It was raining on the evening they thought they had the answer. I think at this point it became a challenge and the rain wasn't going to stop them. I looked outside and the pic below is what I saw. Is this a total redneck thing to do or what? I guess my 9 1/2 foot patio umbrella is good for more than just shielding the sun!

By the way, they did end up fixing the problem. It was one single relay wire to the computer. It would have probably been easier to replace the wiring harness but those two figured it out which wire it was and replaced it. Thank you guys!

Yes Allison, I'm Jelly Belly!!!

I'm busy working on finishing up some Christmas preparations but thought I would take break and share a picture. This is of Allison cuddling with Daddy on the couch. Whenever she kisses and hugs one of us we tease her that we have a jealous belly. She'll look at us and say "Mommy or Daddy, are you jelly belly?" It's one of my favorite games that we play.

“I will not play tug o' war. I'd rather play hug o' war. Where everyone hugs instead of tugs, Where everyone giggles and rolls on the rug, Where everyone kisses, and everyone grins, and everyone cuddles, and everyone wins.”

A BIG THANK YOU!

Thank you to all of you who snail mailed, emailed, called or stopped by to wish me a Happy Birthday. I love and appreciate each and every one of you! I thought I got by at work without anyone remembering but then I was called out of my office to the back where all of our employees had gathered with balloons and a cake to sing happy birthday to me. Even though I hate being the center of attention, it made me feel loved and special.

After tucking Allison in for bed, I cuddled with Curtis on our bed to watch a little television. I woke up over 2 hours later not knowing if it was 10:00 at night or morning. I hate when you do that and you think you have missed something. I thought Allison was late for school and I was late for work! Curtis said I fell asleep immediately. I must have been really tired! I went downstairs to redd up (Pittsburgh slang) the kitchen and my sweetie had already done that. He is so wonderful. He took care of dinner and everything. It was a perfect evening except for the head cold. I truly am blessed.

Happy Birthday Sweetie!

Today is my man's birthday! Happy Birthday Curtis! I am glad you are in my life! I love you!

Allison and I made him a Boston cream pie for his cake. Allison wanted to put thirtysomething candles on his cake and finally after searching everywhere, I came up with just enough. Curtis wasn't too happy with all the candles but he gets no sympathy from me! He takes every opportunity to tease me about the fact that I am older than him so this was one time that he gets to feel old! Do you see the funny car on his cake? It was Allison's decorative touch!
