My 1st Blog Award and a Naughty Fur Kid!

I've received my first blog award and I would like to thank Benita with the presentation! Isn't it pretty? Who wouldn't like a gem like this?
The rules of the award are:
1. The winner can put the logo on her blog.
2. Link the person you received your award from.
3. Nominate at least 7 other blogs.
4. Put links of those blogs on yours.
5. Leave a message on the blogs of the girls you’ve nominated.
There are so many wonderful blogs out there. It is hard to narrow it down to just 7 but here are several of my current favorites in no particular order:
1. Heather - A creative young Mother who has more energy than that pink bunny.
2. Jolene - A Mom to 5 boys who shares her scrapbooking, decorating and recipes on her blog.
3. Rhoda - A fine Southern Lady whose love of yard sales and decorating I can relate to. If we were friends who lived close, I'd be in serious trouble.
4. Cindy - A single Mom whose been able to turn her rental in a beautiful warm cottage.
5. Laurie - Another young creative energetic Mom who has an abundance of good ideas.
6. Kelli - A Mom originally from Canada transplanted in Texas who shares her love of family, cooking, crafting, gardening and more.
7. Laura - A lovely Lady who shares her knowledge of interior design.
Now to the naughty fur kid!
I bet you are wondering what a pair of long handled tongs have to do with a cat. Well let me tell you!

This innocent looking cat is not so innocent. She has a really BAD habit!

While I'm on the computer, she climbs under my feet onto the scanner (which sits on the shelf at knee level) and squeezes through the 5 inch opening at the back of the computer cart. I know that doesn't sound bad but in the process that pain in the you know what cat unplugs the cord to the Internet connection on the way back there and poof I'm offline! She is like lightening. As soon as I realize she's there, I can't stop her. She is back there in a split second. Sometimes I can grab her tail or a foot but then I'm afraid that I'm going to hurt her so I let go. To get things plugged back in, I have to move the computer cart. It's VERY heavy and hard to do on carpeting. Seriously friends, it's a workout! This time I outsmarted her! I slid the screen to the side and used my long handled tongs to fish for the cord. Thank goodness the back of the cart above desk level is open! Oh, and by the way, she doesn't do this when Curtis or Allison is on the computer. JUST ME! Ugh! She must have no clue that I am the one who lets her live here! She must have forgotten that when we she was just a baby her natural Mother didn't Mother her and she was close to death. She apparently doesn't appreciate that fact that we saved her life! She needs to learn where her bread is buttered!

Have Fun!

Dearest, dearest Cindi,

Thank you so very much for the award. It is so nice and provides me the little extra push to keep on writing.

Have a blessed day!
Laura

PS You have much more patience than me. I would be locking kitty in a room while it was computer time. :)
